RV4141 - Low Power Ground Fault Circuit Breaker
DESCRIPTION The RV4141A is a low power controller AC outlet ground fault circuit interrupter. These devices detect dangerous current path to ground and ground to neutral faults. The circuit breaker then disconnects the load from a detrimental or has a fatal impact on the way. Internally, the RV4141A contains a diode rectifier, shunt regulator, high precision sense amplifier, current reference, time delay circuit, and thyristor driver. Two sense transformers, thyristors, solenoid valves, three resistors and four capacitors complete the basic circuit breaker design. Simple layout and minimal component count are insured for ease of application and long-term reliability. Other features not found in the leakage switch controller include a low offset voltage sense amplifier which eliminates the need to use coupling between the sense transformer and capacitor sense amplifier and eliminates the internal high voltage rectifier rectifier diode. An energized RV4141A only has line voltage during the positive half, current faults, but can be independently aware of its phase-to-phase voltages. The gate thyristor drives the line voltage only during the positive half cycle. ...
