APW3007 - Advanced Dual PWM and Linear Dual Supply Controller
GENERAL DESCRIPTION The APW3007 provides power control and protection for quad output voltages in high performance microprocessors and computer applications. The APW3007 is designed to provide a termination voltage to the VTT voltage (1.25V) with an accuracy of ±1%. It integrates two PWM controllers, a linear regulator and liear controller as well as monitoring and protection functions into one package. A PWM controller microprocessor core voltage regulator has a synchronous rectification buck converter, while the second PWM controller provides the I/O 3.3V power supply with a standard buck converter. The linear controller adjusts the power of the GTL bus and the adjustment clock drive circuit of the internal200mA. The APW3007 can provide excess output of the 14A current to an on-board DC/DC converter through an internal reference voltage. It monitors all output voltages, and issues a power good signal when its core is at 10% of the internal reference voltage at other levels and undervoltage is above its level. Additional built-in overvoltage protection for the core output uses low MOSFETs to prevent output voltages above 115% of the reference voltage. The overcurrent function of the PWM controller monitors the output current by sensing the voltage drop across the upper MOSFET impedance RDS(ON), eliminating the need for a current sensing resistor. ...
