DESCRIPTION The IRU3007 controller IC is designed to meet the Intel Pentium Specification IIa microprocessor applications as well as the next generation family of P6 processors. The IRU3007 provides a single chip controller IC for the core voltage, LDO controller GTL+ and a 200mA voltage regulator to power the internal clock while required for Pentium II applications. It also contains a switch controller to convert the 5V to 3.3V regulator for use on the board whether the power supply is ideal for use in applications or does not depend on the ATX power supply's 3.3V output. These devices feature a patented topology in combination with some external components, shown in the typical application circuit, that will provide over 14A of output for an on-board DC/DC current conversion while automatically providing the correct output voltage through a 5-bit internal DAC. The IRU3007 also features lossless current sensing while switching using an RDS(ON) sense resistor as a high-side power MOSFET, an internal current-limited clock supply, a power-good window comparator, switching its open collector output low-power Usually, any one output is outside a pre-programmed window. Other features of the device are: voltage-locked 5V and 12V supplies, an externally programmable soft-start function, an external resistor programmed by the oscillator frequency, over-voltage protection (OVP) circuitry, two switching outputs, and an internal thermal shutdown .
