ISL6528 - Dual Regulator - Standard Step-Down PWM and Linear Power Controller

The ISL6528 provides power control and output voltage protection for both high performance graphics cards and other embedded processor applications. This dual output controller drives linear npn transistors in a standard step-down N-channel MOSFET topology and configuration. The ISL6528 provides both high current regulation, low supply voltage and a separate, lower current supply integrated in an 8-pin SOIC package. This controller is ideal for use in graphics cards for graphics applications where both processing unit (GPU) and memory supplies are required. A standard buck converter is a simple, single feedback loop, voltage mode control with fast transient response. Both switching regulators and linear regulators provide a maximum static regulation accuracy of ±2 or more, % of load, and temperature range. Each output is user adjustable by referring to an external resistor. An integrated soft-start function will bring two ways of power regulation control. Each output is monitored through the FB pin for undervoltage events. If either output falls below 52.5% of the internal reference voltage, the regulator shuts down simultaneously.
