IRU3004-5-Bit Programmable Synchronous Buck Controller IC Dual LDO Controller
DESCRIPTION The IRU3004 controller IC is designed to meet the Intel Pentium Microprocessor Specification Part IIIA applications as well as the next generation P6 series processors. This IC provides a single-chip controller IC for the core voltage, GTL+ clock and supplies required for a Pentium III application. Featuring a patented IRU3004 topology that combines a small number of external components as shown in the Typical Application Circuit, it will provide an output current of 20A of excess onboard DC-DC conversion while automatically providing the output voltage through a 5-bit internal DAC to meet the latest specification of the VRM. The IRU3004 also features lossless current sensing by using a high RDS(ON) side, a sense resistor and a good window comparator for a power MOSFET, switching the open collector output low when the output is ±10% outside the window. Other features of the device are: supply voltage lock at 5V and 12V, external programmable soft-start function and programmable oscillator frequency through the use of external capacitors.
