Product Description The AS2830 is a low power 3A adjustable and fixed voltage regulator which is very easy to use. It only requires 2 to external resistors to set the output voltage of the adjustable version. The AS2830 is designed for low voltage applications, providing lower dropout voltage and faster transient response. This device is ideal for powering applications using low voltage microprocessors requiring lower dropout, faster transient response regulation from 3.8V to +2.5V and as a post-regulated switching power supply. The biggest feature of the AS2830 is a low dropout of 1.2 volts. The AS2830 provides overcurrent limiting and adequate protection against reverse input polarity, torsional load insertion, positive and negative voltage transients. Adjust the reference voltage on the trim chip to 1%. The device's IQ flows into the load, increasing efficiency. The AS2830 adopts 3-pin TO-220 and TO-263 and TO-252 packages and is compatible with other 3-terminal voltage regulators. Refer to the AS2850 data sheet for a 5 amp low dropout regulator.
