General Description The AME8815 family of linear regulators feature low quiescent current (45mA typ.) and low dropout voltage, which makes them ideal for battery applications. It is available in D2PAK and TO-220 packages. Space efficiency using the SOT-223 and DPAK software packages are attractive for "pocket" and "handheld" applications. The output voltage is set at the factory and trimmed to 1.5% accuracy. These rugged devices feature thermal shutdown, and overcurrent protection against device failure under "worst-case" operating conditions. The AME8815 is stable with an output capacitor of 4.7mF or greater.
