FAN1086D-Positively Adjustable Voltage Regulator

The FAN1086 and FAN1086 are 2.5, -2.85, -3.3 and -5 low dropout three terminal regulators with 1.5A output current capability. These devices are optimized for low voltage transient response and minimum input voltage critical. The 2.85V version is designed for use on SCSI buses in active termination. Current limit adjustment to ensure specified output current and controlled short circuit current. On-chip temperature limiting provides protection against any overload and combined ambient temperature would generate excessive junction temperature. With PNP type regulators there is as much as 10% of the output current being wasted quiescent current, quiescent current flows into the load and improves the efficiency of the FAN1086. The FAN1086 series of regulators are available in industry standard SOT-223, TO-263 and TO-252 power packages.
