LP3988-150mA Ultra Low Dropout CMOS Power Good Voltage Regulator
Overview
The LP3988 is a 150mA low dropout regulator designed specifically to meet the requirements of portable batteryapplications. The LP3988 is a small 1µF ceramic capacitor designed to work space-efficiently. The LP3988's functional error flag output is used to indicate an erroneous output condition. The performance of the LP3988 is optimized for battery-powered systems that provide low noise, extremely low dropout voltage and low quiescent current. The regulated ground current increases only slightly in dropout, further extending battery life. Low frequency power supply rejection exceeds 60 dB and starts to push out to 10 kHz. The high power supply refuses to sustain down to lower input voltage levels common to battery powered circuits. This device is ideal for powering mobile phones and similar battery-powered wireless applications. It provides up to 150 mA from 2.5V to 6V input, consumes less than 1µA in disabled mode, and has a fast turn-on time of over 200µS. The LP3988 is available in a 5-pin SOT-23 package and a 5-bump thin micro SMD package. Specified performance over the -40°C to +125°C temperature range is at 1.85, 2.5, 2.6, 2.85, 3.0 and 3.3V output voltages.
