LM145 - Negative Three Amplifier Regulator
The LM145 is a three-terminal with negative regulation for b5V fixed output voltage and up to 3A load current capability. The device only requires an external componentÐa compensation capacitor for the output, so it is easy to apply. Satisfactory system operation is guaranteed for any combination of line, load and temperature variations due to worst case output voltage deviations. Extraordinary efforts have been made to make the LM145 immune to overload conditions. The regulator has current limiting which is independent of temperature, combined with thermal overload protection. Internal current limit protection against a momentary error while thermal shutdown prevents long-term overloading of the junction temperature from beyond a safe range. Although primarily designed for fixed output voltage applications, the LM145 can be programmed for higher output voltages with a simple resistor divider. The low quiescent leakage device current allows this technique to be used for good regulation. The LM145 is available in a hermetically sealed TO-3 package rated for 25W. A reduced temperature range section LM345 is also available.
Features Output voltage accurate to better than G2% with temperature Constant current limit Internal thermal shutdown protection Operates at 2.8V voltage difference between input and output at full rated load Regulations and 25W power dissipation guaranteed
3A output current ensures that only one external component is required for enhanced testing
