Short Circuit Protection - Duty Cycle Limiting Remote Load Voltage Sensing Accurate Load Regulation

The UCC386/7/8 family of positive linear pass regulators are designed for low dropout applications where very low quiescent power dissipation is required. Fabricated in BiCMOS technology ideal for low input-to-output differential applications, the UCC386/7/8 will pass 200mA while requiring only 200mV of input voltage headroom. Typical quiescent current is less than 10mA. To prevent reverse current conduction, the on-chip circuitry limits the minimum forward voltage to 50 mV typical. Once the forward voltage reaches the limit, the input differential output voltage keeps the input voltage down until the undervoltage lockout disables the regulator.
