HIP1015-Power Distribution Controller
HIP1015 and HIP1016 hot-swappable power controllers. The HIP1015 is for a +12 V bus, while the HIP1016 is for +5 V applications. Each has an undervoltage (UV) with a threshold monitoring and reporting level ~17% lower than the nominal +12 V and +5 V The HIP1015 has an integrated charge pump that allows up to +12 V bus using a external N-channel control MOSFET. The HIP1016 can also be used to control more positive or negative voltages in higher voltage low controller configurations. The HIP1015 and HIP1016 feature programmable overcurrent (OC) detection, current limit adjustment time delay latch-off, and soft-start.
Features • Hot-swappable single power distribution control (12V for HIP1015, 5V for HIP1016 and low-side switch)
• Under-Voltage Monitoring and Notification • Over-Current Fault Isolation • Programmable Current Regulation Levels • Programmable Current Limit Time Latch • Rail-to-Rail Common Mode Input Voltage Range (HIP1015)
• Internal charge pump allows use of N-channel MOSFETs (HIP1015)
• Undervoltage and overcurrent lockout indicators • Adjustable turn-on ramps • Protections on turn-on • Two over-current detections provide fast response to different fault conditions • Less than 1µs response time to full short circuit
Applications • Power Distribution Control • Hot Swap Components and Circuits • High Side Low Voltage (<+15 V,) Switching • Low Side High Voltage (>+15 V Negative Five) Switching
