ISL6115 - Power Distribution Controller
This family of fully featured hot-swap power controllers targets applications in the +2.5 V to +12 V range. "ISL6115, ISL6116 are +5 V, +12 V controls the ISL6117 is +3.3 V and 2.5 V controls the ISL6120 application. Each has a hard-wired undervoltage (UV) monitor and reports a threshold level of approximately 80% of the above voltage. The ISL6115 has an integrated charge pump that allows control to the +16 V rail, using an external N-channel while the MOSFETs in other devices utilize a +12 V bias voltage to fully boost the N-channel FET. All ICs have programmable Over Current (OC) Detection, Current Regulation Time Delay (CR), Latch Off, Soft Start. The current regulation level is set by 2 external resistors; RISET sets the CR Vth, the other is a low resistance sense element across The CR Vth is developed. The CR duration is charged by an external capacitor on the CTIM pin and is a 20µA current once the CR Vth level is reached. If the voltage on the CTIM cap reaches 1.9V the IC then quickly pulls down The GATE output is latched off through the FET. This although the high-side switch control is designed for the family ISL6116, ISL6117, ISL6120 can also be used in a much lower voltage control terminal configuration potential.
