The HV111 is a complete power management solution for switching or pluggable backplane applications up to 1.65A, operating from -8.0 to -80V, requiring no external components or programming in many applications. The HV111 is not limited to only negative input voltages. It can also be used in 8.0 to 80 V systems. UVLO/Enable An internally programmed supervisor may be overridden with external resistors for custom settings. Meeting this supervisor will begin the POR phase to ensure de-bounce. After that, the servo loop controls the internal 80V, 2A through the element to limit the current. This circuit uses an internal mirror to measure current without the need for a sense resistor. The HV111 includes two current modes: i) an initial current limit mode where the 1.2A current limit is turned on; ii) thereafter, the 2A monitoring circuit will re-trigger the servo mechanism to 1.2A limit if it is tripped. Make sure that the device can never be damaged by thermal supervisors on the circuit board under overcurrent conditions. The function of the circuit breaker is obtained through a current limit timeout or a PWM critical fault current limiter. If it exceeds 75ms above the servo limit the part will turn off the pass element and start a 9sec timer which will restart the sequence after that. The HV111 is in a thermally rugged DPAK-5 package which provides an improved thermistor compared to the SO-8 solution.
