The HV100/HV1013-pin hot-swap controllers are available in SOT-223 and MLP packages, requiring no external components other than a pass-through element. The HV100/HV101 contains many hot-swap controllers or features over 8 pins, which usually require many external components. These features include under-voltage (UV) detection circuitry, power-on-reset (POR) monitoring circuitry, inrush current limiting, short-circuit protection, and automatic retry. In addition, the HV100/HV101 uses a patent-pending mechanism that accommodates any transfer element to the sample, resulting in consistent hot-plugging of profiles without any programming. The only difference between the HV100 and the HV101 is the internally set undervoltage (UV) threshold.
