MAX6427AGUR-T - Low-Power Single/Dual-Stage Hysteretic Battery Monitor
The MAX6427-MAX6438 single/dual battery monitors have internal hysteresis. These devices offer single (MAX6427/MAX6428/MAX6429, MAX6433/MAX6434/MAX6435) or dual (MAX6430/MAX6431/MAX6432MAX6436/MAX6437/MAX6438) low battery output specifications, which can be used to indicate three battery conditions: Battery is good (in normal system operating mode), the battery is low (in low power operating system mode), or the battery is empty (disabling the system). These devices are ideal for monitoring single-cell Li-Ion (Li+) cells or multi-cell Alkaline/NiCd/NiMH battery power. When the supply voltage falls below the specified low threshold, the low battery output is asserted. When the voltage is higher than the specified high threshold, the minimum output invalid timeout time is 140ms after lowbattery. Timeout to ensure that power converter or microprocessor activity is enabled before the supply voltage is stable. The MAX6427-MAX6438 family is available with several monitoring options. The MAX6427/MAX6428/MAX6429 provide factory-calibrated battery monitor thresholds, with a low-battery output. The MAX6430/MAX6431/MAX6432 also feature factory-trimmed thresholds, but have two lowbattery outputs. The MAX6433-MAX6438 feature a user-adjustable threshold voltage that allows the user to select the hysteresis range and therefore the sensitivity of the system to noise. A wide range of hysteresis also prevents hiccups that can lead to battery recycling after load removal. Single low-battery outputs are provided by the MAX6433/MAX6434/MAX6435 and dual low-battery outputs are provided by the MAX6436/MAX6437/MAX6438. The MAX6427-MAX6438 family provides three outputs for easy interface with system logic options for power circuits or microprocessors. family is available in small SOT23 and SOT143 packages and full over temperature regulation.
