The SAA1502ATS is fabricated in a bipolar, CMOS DMOS (BCD) power logic 70 process and is intended to be used as a single-cell Li-ion battery protection circuit for Li-ion batteries. Current and voltage ratings especially in battery packs used in portable designs like GSM phones etc. This circuit monitors battery voltage, current and temperature and will disconnect in case of battery overload conditions:
· Over-discharge protection to prevent deep discharge of cells; deep discharge of a lithium-ion battery will reduce the lifetime for safety to see over-charge protection · Charge and discharge over-current protection current protection against charging temperature or discharge at high temperature.
