ISL6140 - Negative Voltage Hot Swap Controller
The ISL6140 is an 8-pin, negative voltage thermal plug-in controller that allows boards to be safely inserted and removed from a live backplane. Inrush current is limited to a programmable externally controlled gate voltage value for N-channel transistors. The pass transistor is turned off if the input voltage is below the undervoltage threshold, or greater than the overvoltage threshold. A programmable electronic circuit breaker protects the system against shorts. Active low PWRGD signal that can be used to directly enable the power module (low enable input)
• Low side external nFET switch • Operates from -10V to 80V (-100V absolute maximum rating) or +10 V to +80 V (100 V absolute maximum rating)
• Programmable inrush current • Programmable electronic circuit breaker (overcurrent shutdown)
• Programmable over-voltage protection • Programmable under-voltage lockout • Power good control output
- PWRGD high level: (H version) ISL6150
- Active low of PWRGD: (long version) ISL6140
• Lead-free available as an option
Applications • VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) servers • Telecom systems over - 48V
• Negative power control • +24 V wireless base station power
