LS7231-S - Analog Miscellaneous
Through LS7234 LS7231 is a monolithic, integrated circuit incandescent lamp designed for MOS series brightness control. The output of these ICs controls the brightness of a lamp that controls the firing angle of the triac series lamps. All internal timings are synchronized with the line frequency as a means of built-in phase-locked loop circuitry. The output occurs once per half cycle of the line frequency. The halfcycle output can be positioned anywhere between a 158° conduction angle for maximum brightness and a 41° conduction angle for minimum brightness at the AC line frequency presented to the LC session. The positioning of the output controls the level of the SENS input or high applied at the low level at the external input. The IC also provides a slow dimming input. By applying a slow clock to this input, the lights can be dimmed, slowly, until a total shutdown occurs. This function can be used for sleeping in the child's room.
