LTC1516 - Regulated 5V Charge Pump DC/DC Converter
The LTC®1516 is a micropower charge pump DC/DC converter that generates a 5V power supply from a 2V 5V regulated output. Extremely low supply current (12mA typical at no load, <1mA shutdown) and low external component count (two 0.22mF flying capacitors and two 10mF capacitors at VIN and VOUT) make the LTC1516 ideal for small, lightweight Load battery powered applications. Typical efficiency (VIN=3V) with load current over 70% between 50mA and 50mA. Modulating the SHDN pin maintains typical efficiency above 70% with load current all the way down to 10mA. The LTC1516 operates as a multiplier or frequency tripler depending on VIN and output load conditions to improve overall efficiency. The device features thermal shutdown and can survive continuous shorts from VOUT and GND. The load is disconnected from VIN in shutdown. The LTC1516 is available in an 8-pin SO package in both commercial and industrial temperature grades.
