NCP7662 - Voltage Scaling Without Inductors
The NCP7662 is an industry standard pin compatible upgrade to the TC7660 charge pump voltage converter. It converts a +1.5 V to +15 V input to a corresponding -1.5 to -15 V output, using only two low-cost capacitors, eliminating the inductor and its associated cost, size, and EMI. The on-board oscillator operates at a nominal frequency of 10 kHz. The frequency is increased to 35 kHz when pin 1 is connected to V+, allowing the use of a smaller external capacitor. Sub-10 kHz operation (lower supply current applications) is also possible by connecting an external capacitor from OSC to ground (pin 1 open). The NCP7662 is an 8-pin DIP and 8-pin Small Outline (SO) package for commercial and extended temperature ranges.
