CAT5401-Four 64 taps and SPI interface digital programmable potentiometer (DPP⑩)

The CAT5401 is four digitally programmable potentiometers (POT™) with integrated control logic and 16 bytes of NVRAM memory. Each DPP is accessed externally by connecting two series of 63 resistive elements. The tap point between each resistive element is connected to the wiper output CMOS switch. A separate 6-bit control register ("WR") independently controls the tap switches for each DPP. Four 6-bit data registers (DR) in non-volatile memory with each wiper control register are used to store up to four wiper settings. Writing to the wiper control register or any non-volatile data register is via the SPI serial bus. On power-up, the contents of each of the four potentiometers in the first data register (DR0) are automatically loaded into their respective wiper control registers. The CAT5401 can be used as a potentiometer, or as a two-terminal, variable resistor. It is used for circuit tuning applications at a wide variety of horizontal or system levels. ...
