NCP1651 - Single Stage Power Factor Controller
The NCP345 overvoltage protection circuit (OVP) protects sensitive electronic circuits from overvoltage transients and power supply failures when used in conjunction with external P-channel FETs. The device is designed to sense overvoltage conditions and quickly disconnect before any input voltage supplied to the load may be damaged. Overvoltage protection consists of an accurate voltage reference, comparator hysteresis, control logic, and MOSFET gate drivers. OVP is a robust BiCMOS process designed to withstand transient voltages up to 30 V. The device is optimized for use with an external AC/DC adapter or auto accessory charger to power products and/or charge the built-in battery. The overvoltage threshold is rated at 6.85 V, so it is suitable for applications on single-cell Li-Ion, as well as 3/4-cell NiCd/NiMH applications.
