A8902-3-Phase Brushless DC Motor Controller/Driver, Back EMF Detection
The A8902CLBA is a three-phase brushless DC motor controller/driver for use in 5 V or 12 V hard drives. Three half-bridge output low on-resistance N-channel DMOS devices capable of driving up to 1.25 A: The A8902CLBA provides a complete, reliable, self-contained back-EMF, induction motor start-up and operation algorithm. A programmable digital frequency phase-locked loop speed control circuit together with a linear current control circuit provides precise motor speed regulation. The serial port allows the user to program various functions and modes of operation, such as speed control parameters, startup current limit, sleep mode, diagnostic mode, and others. The A8902CLBA is fabricated on Allegro's BCD (Bipolar CMOSDMOS) process, an advanced mixed-signal technology that combines bipolar, analog and digital CMOS and DMOS power devices. "The A8902CLBA is available in a 24-pin wide body SOIC bat package. It offers the smallest possible surface mount construction application.
