A3980 - DMOS Microdriver for Automotive, with Translator

The A3980 is a complete micro-motor driver built with translation for easy operation. It is designed to operate bipolar stepper motors in full, half, eighth and sixteenth step modes, at up to 35 V, ±1 A. "The A3980 includes a FI fixed off-time current regulator capable of operating in slow, fast, or mixed decay modes. This results in reduced audible motor noise, increased step accuracy and reduced power consumption. The converter is A3980 is the key to ease of implementation. Just enter a pulse on the previous step to drive the motor in microsteps. There are no phase sequence tables, high frequency control lines, or complex interfaces. The A3980 interface is ideal for Fi applications where a complex μP is unavailable or overwhelmed. Internal synchronous rectification cation control circuit provides improved power consumption during pulse width modulation (PWM) operation. Internal circuit protections include: hysteretic thermal shutdown, overvoltage lockout (OVLO), undervoltage lockout (UVLO) , as well as cross-current protection. Special power-up sequence is not required. In addition, two fault diagnostics FL AGS are provided to indicate motor windings are shorted or open. The A3980 is a low-margin LE (1.1mm) Type 28L TSSOP supplied with exposed thermally conductive gaskets (Part number is enough x LP).
