A2916-Dual Full-Bridge PWM Motor Driver
The UDN2916B, UDN2916EB, and UDN2916LB motor drivers are designed to drive one bipolar stepper motor winding or bidirectionally control two DC motors. Both bridges are capable of sustaining 45 V and include internal Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) control of the output current to 750 mA. The outputs have been optimized for low output saturation voltage drop (less than 1.8 volts total source, plus sink at 500mA). PWM current control, the maximum output current is determined by the user's choice of reference voltage and sense resistor. Select two logic levels for input and output current limit of 0, 33, 67, or 100% of the maximum level. The phase A input of each bridge determines the load current direction. Bridges include ground clips and flyback diodes for protection against induced transients. Internally generated delays prevent cross currents when switching current directions. No special power-up sequence is required. Thermal protection circuitry disables the output if the die temperature exceeds safe operating limits. The UDN2916B is available in a 24-pin dual-row plastic bat with copper leadframe and improved thermally sunkable option card package power dissipation capabilities. UDN2916EB is provided for 44 lead power PLCC surface mount applications. The UDN2916LB is available as a 24-pin surface mount SOIC. Their bat construction provides maximum power dissipation in the smallest possible construction. The UDN2916B/EB/LB operates from -40°C to +85°C. To order, change the prefix "UDQ" from "United Daily News". These devices are also available in lead (Pb) free B and Pound versions with 100% matte tin leadframes in special order of operation to +105°C.
