MAX5407-32-tap audio log-tap digital potentiometer
The MAX5407 uses a SOT-POT which is a log-tap digital potentiometer with 32 tap points, taps between 1dB steps. This device is ideal for audio applications such as volume control and fading/balancing audio signals. The MAX5407 contains a resistor string and a CMOS switch via a simple 2-wire serial interface. This device performs the same function as a mechanical potentiometer. The device has a fixed-side to high-side 20K resistor only and features zero-crossing detection to minimize wiper variations due to audible noise. The device has a nominal temperature coefficient of resistance of 35ppm/C terminal-to-terminal and a 5PPM/C ratio. The MAX5407 is available in a space-saving 8-pin SOT23 package, guaranteed from -40C to +85C.
