The AD5263 is the industry's first four-channel, 256-bit, digital potentiometer1 with an optional digital interface. These devices such as mechanical, potentiometers or variable resistors perform the same electronic adjustment functions with enhanced resolution, solid-state reliability and excellent low temperature coefficient performance. Each channel of the AD5263 contains a fixed resistor with the wiper contact tap at one point. The fixed resistance value is loaded by digital code into a 3-wire SPI or 2-wire I2C compatible serial input register. Between the resistor wiper, or the fixed resistor end point, the digital code related to the linear change is tuned into the RDAC latch1. "The variable resistor provides a fully programmable value of resistance between the wiper terminal and the wiper or terminal B. Fixed B's 20K, 50K or 200KΩ termination resistors have a nominal temperature coefficient of 50 ppm/°C. Unlike most in The digital potentiometers on the market, these devices can operate at up to 15V or ±5V with the appropriate supply voltage arrangement. The AD5263 is available in a thin narrow body TSSOP-24. All parts are guaranteed to operate over the extended automotive temperature range of -40°C to +125°C.
