CS2842A - Undervoltage Lockout of Offline Current Mode PWM Control Circuit
The CS284XA and CS384XA provide all the necessary functions to implement off-line fixed frequency current mode with a minimum number of external components to control. The CS384XA series includes a new high precision temperature controlled oscillator with internal trimming of the discharge current to minimize variation in frequency. A precision dutycycle clamp eliminates the need for an external oscillator when 50% dutycycle is used. Liability periods greater than 50% are also possible. The output stage is enabled before the board logic ensures that VREF is stable. Ion implantation resistors provide tighter control of undervoltage lockout. Other features include low start-up current, pulsed, pulsed current limit, and high current totem pole outputs to drive capacitive loads such as gates of power MOSFETs. The output is low in the off state, consistent with N-channel devices. The CS384XA series of current mode control ICs are available in 8 and 14 surface mount leaded package (SO) applications, as well as 8-pin PDIP packages.
