CDP68HC68W1-CMOS Serial Digital Pulse Width Modulator

Features • Programmable frequency and duty cycle output • Serial bus input, Motorola/Intersil SPI bus compatible, simple shift register type interface • 8-pin PDIP package • Schmitt trigger clock input • 4V to 6V operation, -40°C to 85°C temperature range 8MHz clock input frequency

The CDP68HC68W1 modulated clock input provides a variable frequency and duty cycle output signal. Three 8-bit access registers (pulse width, frequency and control) initialize the operation of the device after continuous power-up. The value in the pulse width register selects the duration of the high output period. The frequency register byte divides the clock input frequency and determines the overall output clock period. The input clock can be further divided into two or two low-power modes, and two low-control registers can be selected. A comparator circuit allows the VT pin to rise above 0.75V by setting the output low if the input threshold is controlled. The CDP68HC68W1 is available in an 8-pin PDIP package (pentyl suffix).
