HIP6002 - Rectifier (PWM) Controller and Output Voltage Monitor
The HIP6002 provides a complete control and protection of DC-DC converters optimized for high performance microprocessor applications. It is designed to drive two buck N-channel MOSFET topologies in a synchronous rectifier. The HIP6002 integrates all controls and outputs into a single package of adjustment, monitoring and protection functions. The output voltage of the converter is easy to adjust and precisely regulated. The HIP6002 includes a 4-input digital-to-analog converter (DAC) that can adjust the output voltage from 2.0VDC to 3.5VDC in 0.1V increments. “Precision reference voltage mode regulation holds selectable output voltages with ±1% variation of temperature within line voltage. The HIP6002 provides simple single feedback loop, voltagemode control with fast transient response. It includes a 200kHz free-running triangular-wave oscillator , adjustable below 50kHz over 1MHz. The error amplifier has a 15MHz gain-bandwidth product and 6V/µs slew rate, enabling fast transient performance with high slew bandwidth. The resulting PWM duty cycle varies from 0% to 100% without Etc. The HIP6002 monitors the output voltage with a window comparison to track the DAC output and issues power well when the signal is output within ±10%. The HIP6002 protects against overcurrent conditions by suppressing PWM operation. Built-in overvoltage protection, Trigger external thyristor crowbar input power. The HIP6002 display currently uses RDS(ON) on the upper MOSFET to eliminate the need for a current sense resistor.
