IRU3138 - Synchronous PWM Controller Terminates Power Applications
The purpose of the IRU3138 controller IC is to provide a low voltage tracking cost synchronous buck regulator for applications such as DDR memory and general purpose on-board DC-DC converters. Modern microprocessors combined with DDR memory require a high-speed bandwidth data bus that requires a specific bus termination voltage. This voltage will be tightly regulated, tracked to be half the chipset voltage for best performance. “The IRU3138, along with two N-channel MOSFETs, provides a low-cost solution for such applications. The device features a programmable frequency setting from 200kHz to 400kHz, undervoltage lockout for Vcc and VC supplies, and externally programmable soft-start function, as well as output under-voltage detection, which latches off the device when the output is short-circuited.
