MAX5014-Current-Mode PWM Controller with Startup Circuit with Integrated Isolated Power Supply

The MAX5014/MAX5015 integrate all the modules required to implement the DC-DC fixed frequency isolated power supply. These devices feature an integrated high voltage current mode controller start-up circuit for isolated telecom/industrial voltage range power supplies. Current-mode control leading-edge blanking simplifies control-loop design and internal slope compensation circuitry stabilizes duty-cycle operation over 50% of the current loop (MAX5014). The MAX5014 allows an 85% duty cycle and can be used to implement a flyback converter, while the MAX5015 limits the duty cycle to less than 50% and can be used in a single-ended forward converter. The high voltage startup circuit enables these devices to draw energy directly from 18V to 110V input power during startup. The switching frequency is internally trimmed to 275kHz by 10% halogen, which reduces magnetic and filter component cost. The MAX5014/MAX5015 are 8-pin SO packages. An evaluation kit (MAX5015EVKIT) is available.
