ADM1072 - Dual Channel, USB 2.0 Full Speed/Backup Power Controller Supply Steering
The ADM1072 is a logic controlled, dual P-channel switch with low resistance and a built-in current limiter, capable of sourcing supply voltages from 2.7V up to 1A5.5V. In addition, each channel toggles logic input on and off, the device has a spare input, and the output toggles current limit, making it ideal for use with USB peripherals. The output current in normal operating mode and standby mode is typically limited to 500mA and 100mA, respectively, as outlined in the USB 2.0 specification. This makes the system power supply short-circuit and surge protected against the ADM1072 powering the device's current through the USB peripheral. Signals under overcurrent and overtemperature conditions are fault outputs for each channel. The ADM1072 also features a low quiescent current of typically 50µA and shutdown current of typically 10nA.
