FlashFlex51 family members of SST89E5xRD2/RD and SST89V5xRD2/RD 8-bit microcontrollers
SST's patented product design and manufacture and proprietary SuperFlash CMOS semiconductor process technology. The split gate cell design and thick oxide tunnel injectors offer significant cost and reliability advantages to SST's customers. The device uses the 8051 command settings and is pin-to-pin compatible with the standard 8051
microcontroller device.
16/24/40 Kbytes of on-chip flash memory devices which are separate program memory blocks into 2 partitioned EEPROM program memory. The main seat 0 occupies an area of ​​8/16/32 internal program storage space of 380K bytes of middle school 1, occupies 8 internal program storage space of 380K bytes.
The second block of 8 bytes can be mapped to locations down to 8/16/32 KB of address space, and can also be used as a separate program counter and hidden EEPROM data memory.
In addition to 16/24/40 Kbytes EEPROM program memory chips, the device can handle up to 64Kbytes of external program memory. In addition to the 1024 X8-bit on-chip RAM, 380K bytes of 64 external RAM can be addressed.
The flash memory blocks can be programmed via a standard 87C5x OTP EPROM programmer equipped with a special adapter and firmware for SST's devices. After performing a poweron reset, the device can be configured as a slave to an external host for source code storage or as a master external host for in-application programming (IAP) operation.
The device is designed for maximum flexibility in system programming applications on printed circuit boards. The device is preconfigured eg a bootloader in memory, which indicates an initial user program code load or subsequent user code update via IAP operation. The sample bootloader is for user reference and convenience only; stainless steel does not guarantee its functionality or usability. A chip erase or block erase operation will erase the preprogrammed sample code.
