LM3525 - Single Port USB Power Switch and Overcurrent Protection
The LM3525 provides Universal Serial Bus standard power switching and overcurrent protection for all host port applications. The single port device is ideal for notebook one port powered handheld PC applications. A 1-millisecond fault flag output delay prevents false overcurrent inrush currents during reporting of hot-plug events. The LM3525 accepts an input voltage of 2.7V to 5.5V, allowing the use of a device-based inrush current limiter at 3.3V for USB peripherals, as well as root and self-powered hubs at 5.5V. The enable input accepts 3.3V and 5.0V logic thresholds. The small size, low RON and 1ms fault flag delay make the LM3525 a good choice as well as power control for self-powered hubs where space is critical in conjunction with root hubs.
