Samsung mobile phones will be upgraded to Android 11/One UI 3.0 from now on
Samsung mobile phones have also started to push the Android 11/One UI3.0 update recently. The Galaxy S20 series was pushed first, and some students should have already received it and updated it. Because Samsung has its own UI, there will be more update items than the native interface. Here I will sort out which places have been updated after the Android 11/One UI3.0 upgrade. If you haven't found it, you are welcome to add it.
There are the following update items, click to skip:
screen, desktop
Add call background
update of message
tools, productivity
samsung keyboard
Media Browser/? Album
Switch between multiple music panels
interface improvements
screen, desktop
1.) Double tap to wake up or sleep
When the phone is turned off to sleep, the BZV55C16 can wake up at two clicks to check the notification and time, which everyone should know. After updating OneUI 3.0, go to Settings→Advanced Features→Actions and Gestures, you can also turn on "Tap twice to turn off the screen", and double-tap on the blank space of the main screen to sleep, the gesture is true Much easier than pressing the power button. Or wake up after reading the notification, and then double-tap to sleep.
2.) Lock the screen to choose more wallpaper themes
Samsung phones have beautiful photos with different themes that you can set as a carousel of dynamic lock screens. Originally, you can only choose one theme at a time, either all food photos, or all landscape photos. After the update, you can choose 5 theme photos at the same time to rotate. There are many changes, and there are also more exquisite photo themes provided. .
Settings→Lock Screen→Desktop Service→Dynamic Lock Screen Select. (Actually, the fastest way is to directly hit the lock screen search in the settings)
3.) Watch the Widget at once on the lock screen
Usually slide to lock the sliding time on the screen, you can switch Widgets such as music, calendar, weather, etc. to quickly view information. After updating OneUI 3.0, it becomes a click to lock the time on the screen. In addition to the countdown time, it will also list all the widgets you have opened, and read it in one page. In addition, a new "Digital Health" Widget is also added here, which is convenient for you to focus on today's usage.
Settings→Lock Screen→Widget→Select the Widget you want to browse. It's also a place to quickly play music and browse your calendar.
4. More Bixby Routines can be placed in the Widget
I don't know if you are using the Bixby Routines function. This function will learn your usage habits and preferences, and then automatically adjust the settings when appropriate, or you can also set it yourself. When the conditions/switches are enabled, What instructions are automatically executed, a bit like the concept of Shortcut, automatic execution.
5.) Long press the App icon to add Widget directly
Some long press the app icon, there will be a quick selection function menu. This classmate should have used it too. After this update, after long pressing the App icon, you can see that there is an item "Widget" in the menu, and you can click it directly. Put the Widget of this program on the desktop. (Originally, I had to find it in a bunch of programs)
Add call background
OneUI 3.0 has added a call background function. You can set the background screen for dialing/calling, photos and videos. I don't know if this function is practical or not, but it is very interesting.
Open the phone app→three dots in the upper right corner→settings→call background.
update of message
1.) There is a trash can that can be temporarily stored for 30 days
The original message will be deleted when it is deleted, but after the update, a "trash can" function has been added to the message. The deleted message will be moved here first, and then automatically deleted after 30 days, so that you have a chance to retrieve the message.
Message App→Three dots on the right→Trash can.
2.) Centralized message notification
After updating to Android 11, message notifications, even if they come from different apps, will still be grouped together for easy browsing.
And if you reply directly in the notification, the conversations that come and go will also be displayed in the notification bar, but the conversation depends on whether the app supports it, not necessarily all. For example, LINE does not support it yet.
3.) Priority contacts are always on top
If it is an important or frequently used contact, you can set it as a priority in the notification, so that his incoming messages will always be on the top, and even if there are other incoming messages, he will not be pushed down. This is a feature that Android 11 has, but LINE does not support it yet.
4.) Messages that need to be chatted are first made into floating bubbles
Settings→Notifications→Advanced Settings→Select the floating notification as a bubble first.
Then select "Conversation", the person who has recently sent a message will appear, click in → open this dialog box, and in the future, the person's incoming message will be notified by popping out the floating bubble.
tools, productivity
The functions here are relatively scattered, so it’s okay to look at them one by one.
1.) Samsung Network can lock tabs
After the update, after opening multiple pages with Samsung Internet, these pages can be sorted or locked. Even if you click to close the pages, they will still be retained. It doesn't matter if you close it by mistake, you can save it by "reopening closed tabs" in the menu.
However, this is an update of the app itself, and it is not necessary to upgrade to One UI 3.0. Just update the Samsung Internet app to 13.0.2.9 alone.
2.) Mark my profile as favorite
After the update, open the Samsung "My Profile" app, and you can see that there is a "My Favorite" in the category. When you see a file you want to mark, select it and add an asterisk to it, and it will be categorized into my favorites, making it easier to find.
3.) Calendar display more clearly
After updating to OneUI 3.0, Samsung's built-in "Calendar App" also has a small update, that is, when browsing the calendar by month, the events at the same start time of the day will be listed together in the same small card, which looks more than one rule. Columns are clearer.
4.) Add more Bixby Routines
The Bixby Routines function mentioned above has been updated to add more preset scenarios, which means that you don’t need to set it yourself, there are many shortcuts to choose from. If you haven’t found this function before, it is recommended to study it.
5.) It is possible to allow only one-time permissions
This is an update to Android 11 Unity. In some queries that require access to mobile phone permissions, such as access to the camera, microphone, location, storage space, etc., an additional one is only allowed once, and those who attach more importance to privacy can be set in this way.
