The AMC1306 is a precision delta-sigma (ΔΣ) modulator whose output is separated from the input circuit by a capacitive double isolation barrier that is highly resistant to magnetic interference. The barrier is certified to provide reinforced isolation up to 7000 V peak according to DIN VDE V 0884-11 and UL1577. Used in conjunction with an isolated power supply, this isolated modulator separates parts of the system that operate at different common-mode voltage levels and protects low-voltage parts from damage.
The input of the AMC1306 is optimized for direct connection to shunt resistors or other low voltage level signal sources. The ±50mV device's unique low input voltage range allows significant power reduction through shunts and supports excellent AC and DC performance. The output bitstream of the AMC1306 is Manchester encoded (AMC1306Ex) or unencoded (AMC1306Mx), depending on the derivative.
