Test shot / Xperia 1 II animal eye focus + high-speed continuous shooting can be used as a pet artifact skill to share with you
In the previous test, we confirmed that the high-speed continuous shooting and focusing speed in the Xperia 1 II "Photo Pro" can capture the dynamic moment through continuous shooting. Although it still needs to cooperate with some experience, Only by adjusting the shutter speed can you get a successful photo with good exposure and no motion blur, but such a high-speed continuous shooting and focusing speed is still something that other mobile phones do not have.
Yesterday, Sony Mobile specially prepared a scene like "shooting pets" for this function, BP5319 , and recruited Internet celebrity cats and dogs to let us shoot, let us once again experience high-speed continuous shooting of 20 frames per second, and Eye that can also detect animal eyes The ability to match AF.
And I personally found that shooting pets in this mode is more fun and has a better sense of achievement. First, because cats and dogs are not like people, you can't predict their movements very much, and the difficulty will be higher than shooting people, so the achievement is achieved. The feeling will be higher, and secondly, the pets' movements and expressions in an instant, it will be unexpectedly cute and cute, I never thought that I would take such a funny picture, and I am full of sense of accomplishment.
There are more fur babies than human babies
The numbers are quite interesting.
In recent years, I have often heard the trend of declining fertility and fewer births, but if you look at it with pet surveys, you will find that the world is really different. . . According to the data from the Ministry of the Interior and the Agriculture Committee, the survey company found that the number of people under the age of 15 in Taiwan last year was already quite close to the number of cats and dogs at home. The following population numbers, that is, the number of cats and dogs in the house, are estimated to be more than the number of children. Either there are more pet-only homes, or more cats and dogs.
But mobile phones are ultimately sold to people, not dogs, so we still turn our attention back to pet owners.
Sony Mobile found that pet parents actually like "dazzling pets", with 19% taking pictures for them every day, and 48% taking pictures two or three times a week. After taking photos, 31.5% of people will share photos of fur babies on the community at least 2-3 times a week. (Then do you give more likes to Hyun Kids, or Hyun Cats and Dogs? Sorry, I'm the latter)
And according to the same survey, the proportion of pets photographed with a mobile phone is far greater than that with a camera, and the most wanted to photograph is the moment when they are playing, followed by the cute appearance when they are not moving, and with people or other cats and dogs. How it looks when interacting. So are you going to videotape them playing or how?
To be honest, because the cuteness of cats and dogs playing in such an instant, it is quite difficult to take pictures. Many owners (or minions?) feel the pain points when taking pictures of pets with mobile phones. The focus is too slow, the low light source image quality is not good, Not very easy to adjust the angle, start the camera too slowly...etc.
Among these pain points, the Xperia 1 II has an obvious advantage in focusing speed, which is often mentioned in the introduction to support human eye, animal eye tracking focusing, and 70% of the range on the photosensitive element is the phase detection focusing point , supplemented by continuous shooting at 20 frames per second, so it is easier to focus quickly and shoot instantly.
In terms of starting the camera speed and adjusting the angle, the Xperia 1 II has a physical shutter button, which can quickly start the camera, and it is easier to start the shutter when you are used to a single eye, or when you move it up and down (than point the screen), but other cameras also Will do the same thing with the volume keys.
In terms of video anti-shake, Xperia 1 II also provides it, but the flagships in the past two years also have OIS+EIS, and super anti-shake design, and the video anti-shock ability is also very good.
So the focus is still on the ability to "follow fast focus + 20 shots per second".
Expert Edition Xperia 1 II Pet Tips
Before the shoot, Sony Mobile also invited pet photographer Yang to briefly share some tips for shooting pets with the Xperia 1 II.
The first is to make pets feel very relaxed and comfortable. Don't force them to do something because they want to take a good picture. If you know how to play with them and interact with them, it is better to play cat sticks, play balls, etc.
In addition, lowering the phone close to the ground will make the viewing angle more vivid. (Caibian added: Because most of the cats and dogs move up and down, and the mobile phone is placed low to shoot, there is room to take pictures of their amplitudes in the framing, and most of the time, they can capture their various eyes.)
Because cats and dogs move very quickly, Yang also suggested that you can choose the S/shutter priority mode in Photo Pro, set a short exposure time, and let the camera adjust the ISO, EV, and focus.
If it is not moving, you can choose M mode, adjust the shutter, EV, ISO, and preview the satisfactory brightness and composition on the screen to shoot.
The editor version actually finished 10 experiences
Usually, these tips are forgotten on the spot, so when you aim, think about it calmly before you really learn it...
Following the tips of low-angle, S-mode, and nine-square-frame composition, I personally took some small surprises from a bunch of continuous shots at the scene.
Let me tell you what I got from the test shoot yesterday...
1. It’s important to shoot low and leave space above the composition so they don’t jump out of the picture.
For example, when I wanted to shoot Corky Coffee to catch the ball, it was already predicted that he would move to the right, so I left some space and successfully shot it~ Ya~
2. Press the shutter when ready
The Xperia 1 II's high-speed burst can take up to 200 shots at a time, which means it can last for 10 seconds, so before they're ready to let them run, jump, catch the ball, and eat flying snacks, you can press the shutter to start the burst. Now, most of the opportunities can be taken after 100 shots, and that moment can be captured. It's really too late to wait for them to move and then press the shutter. The continuous shooting time is quite sufficient, so you can press it first.
3. Take multiple shots to accumulate shutter experience
Because high-speed continuous shooting is purely manual, how to set the shutter speed to a freezer is very important, which really depends on experience. According to yesterday's shooting, I can drive it to more than 1/2000s in the sun or a little closer, and I can drive it to more than 1/800s in a bright room. In addition, if you shoot a white dog in the sun, it is recommended to adjust the ISO to the lowest level, and you may have to trouble your white dog to stand in the center, let you preview on the screen how the adjustment is just right, and then let him free himself....
(This cloud of white light is actually a super cute Samoyed, which is the result of me neither adjusting the shutter speed nor adjusting the brightness first...)
4. Watch their eyes
In fact, they are very interesting whether they look at the camera or not. I sometimes leave blanks in the direction their eyes are looking. The photos will have the feeling of wanting to say something, especially the cat staring at you... so cute~ ~~ (Both are brightened)
When taking full body photos, be careful not to cut off the feet. Although it is a small place, it is better to keep the whole photo.
The moment of the pet is really funny. I feel very surprised when I see myself after taking a series of shots. It is not only the action, but sometimes the expression is close-up, the blink of an eye is like a smile, or the tongue is stuck out, all of which are very cute or cool. Expressions, photos are brightened.
