The ADS1299-4 , ADS1299-6, and ADS1299 devices are a family of four-, six-, and eight-channel, low noise, 24-bit, simultaneous sampling delta-sigma (ΔΣ) analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) with built-in programmable gain amplifiers ( PGA), internal reference and ACPM-5002-TR1 onboard oscillator. The ADS1299-x integrates all common functions required for extracranial electroencephalography (EEG) and electrocardiography (ECG) applications. The ADS1299-x's high level of integration and superior performance enables the creation of scalable medical instrumentation systems with significantly reduced size, power consumption, and overall cost.

Each channel of the ADS1299-x has a flexible input multiplexer that can be independently connected to internally generated signals for testing, temperature, and lead-off detection. Furthermore, any configuration of input channels can be selected to derive the patient biased output signal. An optional SRB pin can be used to route common signals to multiple inputs for reference montage configuration. The ADS1299-x operates at data rates from 250 SPS to 16 kSPS. Lead-off detection can be implemented inside the device using excitation current sinks or sources.

Multiple ADS1299-4, ADS1299-6, or ADS1299 devices can be cascaded in high-channel-count systems in a daisy-chain configuration. The ADS1299-x is available in a TQFP-64 package and is specified over the temperature range of –40°C to +85°C.
