The TMP461 device is a high-accuracy, low-power remote temperature sensor monitor with a built-in local AO4801A temperature sensor. Remote temperature sensors are typically low-cost discrete NPN or PNP transistors, or substrate thermal transistors or diodes that are part of a microprocessor, microcontroller, or field programmable gate array (FPGA). For both local and remote sensors, temperature is represented as a 12-digit numeric code with a resolution of 0.0625°C. The two-wire serial interface accepts the SMBus communication protocol with programmable addresses for up to nine different pins.

Advanced features such as series resistance cancellation, programmable non-ideality factor (n-factor), programmable offset, programmable temperature limit and programmable digital filter combine to provide a robust thermal monitoring solution with more High accuracy and noise immunity.
