Whether the vibration of the recording screen can be minimized is a test of the installer's skills and experience.

The ring-shaped mainframe fixing bracket has a rubber bushing inside to prevent the mainframe from shaking. After the ring bracket switch on the side is turned off, the tightness of the screws can also be adjusted manually. Let's look a little more clearly, from top to bottom and from left to right are the memory card slot, charging indicator, USB jack, reset button, and video/photo recording mode switching button. When placing the memory card, remember to pay attention to the direction of the memory card, and put it in the slot until the memory card is fixed. When you want to take it out, do the reverse operation. Press the memory card lightly to release the card and take it out.

When using MicroSD memory card, the original factory recommends to use Class 6 with a capacity of 8GB or above. The maximum memory card size corresponds to 32GB, and 8GB can record about 100 minutes, and so on. For general commuting, 8GB of memory is enough. The recorder is a loop type of recording. When the remaining space of the memory card is insufficient, the recorder will cover the images with the oldest time in sequence and temporarily archive them.

There are two buttons on the outside of the recorder. The upper left is the power button. Press the power button for 2 seconds to turn it on. The blue indicator light is the power light. Press the shutter button (orange button) and release it, the status indicator will light up red, which means recording (photo or video) starts. Another feature of the M300 is that the main unit will have a vibrating prompt during operation to remind the user of the current mode, which is easy to operate, especially when it is installed on a helmet, the number of vibrations can be used to judge the status of the recorder. After the recorder vibrates three times, it will automatically start recording in a loop, and continuous recording will save a short video every five minutes without interrupting the recording. If you want to stop continuous recording in the middle, press the shutter button and release it, the recorder will vibrate once, which means that the recording has ended.

Charging light, green means charging, when the light is off, charging is complete. If the red light is flashing, you should pay special attention. It may be that the memory card is not inserted properly after the power is turned on, and the memory card needs to be reinstalled after the power is turned off.

Regarding the power supply, the author mentioned at the beginning that the most fearful thing about installing a driving recorder on a motorcycle is the power supply problem. What if there is no car charger and USB socket? It doesn't matter that the M300 can be charged with a 5V/1A power bank, which is quite convenient. In the experience of this trial, the author tested a completely dead recorder with a 5V/1A mobile power supply, and recorded another 15 minutes after charging for about half an hour. The built-in battery capacity is 650mAh lithium battery. After this actual measurement, it can be used for about 1.5~2 hours. If the internal power supply is used, it can only be used for general commuting records, and an external power supply is required for long-distance travel. According to Mio officials, such battery specifications are designed mainly based on volume and usage requirements.

If it is installed on a vehicle equipped with a car charger, it is the most perfect. Using a waterproof car charger can solve the problem of long-term power supply. Now most of the yellow cards are listed as standard, and it is just right to use a driving recorder.

For the waterproof performance, the waterproof rating of the casing is IPX8. After continuous diving test, it can withstand the waterproof test of 3 meters and 60 minutes underwater. It is installed outside the vehicle and exposed to heavy wind and rain without worrying too much.

In broad daylight, the 1080P picture quality is very comfortable to watch, and the picture is very clear. However, because there is no way to preview the picture first, the angle of the video camera when riding the elevated road section is low. It is suggested that you must confirm the picture and adjust it at the same time when installing, so as to record the most ideal driving picture.

In general road driving pictures at night, the picture grains are slightly larger in places where the light source is insufficient. Judging from the lens specification of 1920 x 1080P (Full HD) and 30fps, the night picture is smooth and not stuck.

It was taken when testing tires at Longtan Lohas Circuit. It was a little cloudy, but the light source was enough. In this case, the picture quality of the photos is barely passable.

The quality of night photos is not ideal, and it may be that the lens is slightly shaken and the picture is not good. However, after trying to take many photos, this is the one that can be seen in night photos. When the light source is insufficient, the M300 still has room to improve the quality of the photos.

Mio's original factory provides video management software, which can be sorted and archived according to time and date. The screen is as shown above, the largest area on the upper left is the video window, and the upper right is the calendar. You can click and select the video you want to find according to the time. There are three types of video categories: event, general, and parking pictures. The lower right side is the file list, with file name, date and time. And some computers may not be able to play the files of the recorder due to the problem of video encoding. It is recommended to install the original software to solve this problem. It is a playback program in itself.

●To reconcile the use experience!

◆Recorder installation:

After getting along with MiVue Manager in the past few days, the way to install on the helmet is the fastest and easiest to adjust, and it does not need to be moved anywhere on the motorcycle, and it is also convenient to restore in the future. The picture should be the most stable, the most standard viewing angle, or it needs to be fixed on the frame, but the situation where the recorder and the vehicle resonate is the first problem that needs to be overcome. The quick-release base tenon design is great! It can be easily removed when leaving the locomotive, no need to consider the problem of anti-theft.

◆Machine operation:

The operation method is very simple, especially the vibration prompt is very good. I installed it on the safety helmet, and I only need to pay attention to the number of vibrations to know the current operation status. It is a little more troublesome to open the waterproof protective cover on the back of the main unit when switching the photo/photography mode, but the design is helpless for the appearance of the waterproof function.

◆Power supply:

The performance of the 650mAh lithium battery is fairly good. Generally, the endurance for urban commuting is sufficient, and it can supply 90 to 120 minutes. To support long-distance travel, it can also be solved by connecting to an external power supply. The specially designed waterproof car charging cable set is a very thoughtful design. It is a kit set tailored for motorcycle users.

●Trial summary

The MiVue M300 image quality is fine for me personally, and I have no problem recording some commuter traffic profiles. In the case of sufficient light source, the picture quality performance is still normal, and when the light source is insufficient, it is not satisfactory, but it is very useful to be able to immediately come in handy when there is some emergency situation that urgently needs to take pictures. As for the installation position, it should be one of the difficulties encountered by most people. The vibration of motorcycles is much bigger than that of cars. If it is not installed properly, the lens will vibrate and the picture will basically be unusable. This is especially necessary. part of attention. If a suction cup-type structure can be added to the part of the fixed base, the difficulty in vehicle installation may be reduced. Based on the premise of not wanting to change the motorcycle, I will still choose to fix the dash cam on the helmet in the future. For the power supply part, as long as the vehicle power supply problem is overcome, no matter how long the distance is. Mio has also launched the IPX8 waterproof design in good faith, and the weather resistance of the fuselage also has a certain level. This is a rare motorcycle-specific driving recorder launched by Mio.
