The OPA4872 provides an ultra-wideband 4:1 multiplexer in an SO-14 package. The OPA4872 uses only 10.6mA, provides user-settable output amplifier gain, and has a large signal bandwidth (2V PP ) greater than 500MHz. Using a new (patented) input stage switching method, switching glitches are improved over earlier solutions. This technique uses current control as the input switch while maintaining the overall closed-loop design. The shutdown isolation of the OPA4872 in disable or shutdown mode is 88dB. The OPA4872 has a small-signal bandwidth greater than 500MHz at a gain of 2 and provides typical 0.1dB gain flatness at greater than 120MHz.

System power can be optimized using the chip-enable feature of the OPA4872. Use the chip enable (EN) line to power down the OPA4872 to less than 3.4mA total supply current. Power dissipation can be further reduced to 1.1mA quiescent current by pulling the shutdown (SD) line high. Mixing together multiple OPA4872 outputs and then using the AD8222ACPZ-R7 chip enable to select which channels are active increases the number of possible inputs.
