The ADS1291 , ADS1292, and ADS1292R are multichannel, simultaneous sampling, 24-bit, ΔΣ (ΔΣ) analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) with built-in AD5232BRU10 programmable gain amplifier (PGA), internal reference, and onboard oscillator.

The ADS1291, ADS1292, and ADS1292R integrate all the functions typically required for portable, low-power medical electrocardiography (ECG), sports, and fitness applications.

The ADS1291, ADS1292, and ADS1292R provide a high level of integration and superior performance to create scalable medical instrumentation systems with significantly reduced size, power consumption, and overall cost.

Each channel of the ADS1291, ADS1292, and ADS1292R has a flexible input multiplexer that can be independently connected to internally generated signals for testing, temperature, and lead-break detection. Additionally, any input channel configuration can be selected to derive the right leg drive (RLD) output signal. The ADS1291, ADS1292, and ADS1292R operate at data rates up to 8 kSPS. Lead-off detection can be implemented inside the device using a device-internal excitation current sink or source. The ADS1292R version includes fully integrated respiration impedance measurement.

The devices are available in a 5mm x 5mm, 32-pin Thin Quad Flatpack (TQFP) and a 4mm x 4mm, 32-pin leadless Quad Flatpack (VQFN). The rated operating temperature is –40°C to +85°C.
