Outdoor and indoor positioning

The advantage of base station positioning is that it saves power and can be positioned indoors, but the approximate range captured by the positioning will be relatively large (about 50-200 meters). We can choose which method to use for positioning on the App. The two methods are quite complementary. It depends on the need to choose at that time.

There is no special situation. For example, the elderly have a fixed time for exercise in the park, and the children are also out of school at about the same time. Just to track the known daily activities, you can use the base station to locate the approximate location. If you feel that there is an abnormality, or you need to keep track of a more accurate location, switch to GPS positioning depending on the power status.

During the test, on the day of the 01 Beiyi cycling event, I asked my cyclist to help me wear it.

It was fully charged at 9:00 pm on Friday, and started to use the base station positioning. On the next Saturday, my colleagues switched 2 to 3 times while riding their bikes. The GPS positioning lasted for about 15 minutes, and the rest were maintained at the base station positioning. On Saturday, I checked the location more frequently. In the App, you can also check the past positioning (the nearest 30 points) on the map. The landmarks on the map in the App are relatively simple. If you want to see the detailed address coordinates and even navigation, you can also choose to open it with Google Maps in the App.

Set the guard range

Setting the guard range is also a special feature of BoBee.

Usually elders or children may have some fixed time and scope of activities. For example, the elderly go to a certain park to exercise at 6:00 in the morning, the children stay at school from 7:00 to 4:00 in the afternoon, and they stay in the parenting class at night... etc. Or a child leaves the park or school on time and may want to be concerned about what's going on.

The purpose of "Guardian Range" is to let you set the area and time where the elders and children will move regularly in the App. When they leave the area within the time limit, BoBee will send a notification to remind you. Generally, the location will be reported once an hour. If there is a set guard range, a notification will be triggered as soon as it detects that it has left, and there will be no limit of notification once an hour.

However, if you want to track the demented elders, you may need a notification of why you haven't returned home within a period of time. At present, BoBee does not provide this function.
