Description of TPS65300-Q1
The TPS65300-Q1 power supply is a combination of a single switch-mode step-down power supply and three linear regulators. This device is a monolithic high voltage switching regulator featuring an integrated 1.2A peak current switch, 45V power metal oxide semiconductor field effect transistor (MOSFET), and a low voltage linear regulator with two voltage Voltage Regulator Controller.
The device features a voltage supervisor to monitor switch-mode power supplies,
Output voltage for 3.3V linear regulator and 1.234V linear regulator. An external timing capacitor is used to set the power-up delay time and the release time of the reset output nRST. The reset output is also used to indicate if a switch-mode power supply, 3.3V linear regulator supply, or 1.234V linear regulator supply is outside the programmed limits. The 5V regulator tracks the 3.3V linear regulator within the specified limits.
The TPS65300-Q1 device switches between 2MHz and 3MHz, enabling the use of half-height inductors and low-value input and output ceramic capacitors. External loop compensation provides the user with the flexibility to optimize the converter response for proper operating conditions.
The device has built-in protection features such as soft-start (during IGN_EN on or enable), pulse-by-pulse current limit, thermal sensing, and shutdown on excessive power dissipation.
