Description of DRV8801A-Q1
The DRV8801A-Q1 device features an H-bridge driver that provides a versatile motor driver solution. The device can drive a brushed DC motor or a winding of a stepper motor, as well as other devices such as solenoids. A simple PHASE and ENABLE interface allows easy connection to the controller circuit.
The output stage uses N-channel power MOSFETs configured as an H-bridge. The DRV8801A-Q1 device is capable of delivering up to ±2.8A peak output current and withstands operating voltages up to 36V. The required gate drive voltage can be generated by an internal charge pump.
A low-power sleep mode shuts down some internal circuits to achieve very low quiescent current and power consumption. This sleep mode can be programmed using a dedicated nSLEEP pin.
Internal protection features provided include undervoltage lockout, overcurrent protection, short-to-supply protection, short-to-ground protection, thermal warning, and thermal shutdown. Overcurrent (including shorts to ground and shorts to power) and overtemperature fault conditions are indicated by the nFAULT pin.
The DRV8801A-Q1 device is available in a PowerPAD 16-pin ultra-thin quad flat no-lead (WQFN) package (environmentally friendly: RoHS compliant and antimony/bromine free).
