Description of TLV755P

The TLV755P is an ultra-small low quiescent current, low dropout regulator (LDO) that can source 500mA with good line and load transient performance. The TLV755P is optimized to support an input voltage range of 1.45V to 5.5V, making it suitable for a variety of applications. To minimize cost and solution size, the device offers a fixed output voltage in the 0.6V to 5V range to support the lower core voltages of modern microcontrollers (MCUs). In addition, the TLV755P has a low IQ with an enable function to minimize standby power consumption. The device features an internal soft-start function designed to reduce inrush current, thus providing a controlled voltage to the load and minimizing input voltage drop during start-up. In shutdown, the device actively reduces the output to quickly release the output and ensure a known start-up state.

The TLV755P is stable when used with small ceramic output capacitors enabling a small overall solution. A high precision bandgap and error amplifier supports a typical accuracy of 1%_. All device versions feature integrated thermal shutdown protection, current limit, and low voltage lockout (UVLO). The TLV755P has an internal foldback current limit that helps reduce heat dissipation in the event of a short circuit.
