Description of TLV758P

The TLV758P is an adjustable 500A low dropout (LDO) regulator. The device is available in small 6-pin 2mm × 2mm WSON and 5-pin SOT23 packages with very low quiescent current, providing fast line and load transient performance. The TLV758P features an ultra-low dropout of 130mV (at 500mA current), which helps improve system efficiency.

The TLV758P is optimized for a variety of applications: it supports an input voltage range of 1.5V to 6.0V and an externally adjustable output range of 0.55V to 5.5V. This low output voltage enables this LDO to power modern microcontrollers with lower core voltages.

The TLV758P is stable when used with small ceramic output capacitors that support a small overall solution. A precision bandgap and error amplifier features high accuracy, providing 0.7% (max) accuracy at 25°C and 1% (max) accuracy over temperature (85oC). The device includes integrated thermal shutdown, current limit, and undervoltage lockout (UVLO) features. The TLV758P includes an internal foldback current limit to help reduce heat dissipation during short circuit events.
