B58043E5254M052 capacitor
Expands its proven range of CeraLink capacitors for voltage stabilization in DC links. Previously, only large, off-the-shelf sizes were available. Now, smaller versions with classic chip designs have been added, expanding the range of applications. The product portfolio starts with the EIA 2220 specification measuring 5.7 mm x 5 mm x 1.4 mm, which is suitable for 500 V and offers 250 nF capacity and very low parasitics. These capacitors are available with standard and soft terminations.
At room temperature, the ESR at 1 MHz is only 40 mΩ, the ESL is 3 nH, and even lower at higher temperatures. High current capability up to 9 ARMS at 200 kHz and +25°C ambient temperature. The permissible temperature range is between -40°C and +150°C.
Typical applications use smaller designs, either in snubber capacitors or output capacitors. Due to its smaller size, the CeraLink SMD variant can be brought closer to fast switching power semiconductors such as IGBT modules, SiC-based semiconductors or GaN-based semiconductors. In addition to the low ESL value, the lead inductance is also very low.
CeraLink capacitors are based on PLZT ceramic (lead lanthanum zirconate titanate). Compared to conventional ceramic capacitors, their maximum capacity is at operating voltage and increases with the ratio of the ripple voltage. The technical guide provides more explanation on the characteristics of antiferroelectric capacitors.
